Mr. Andjelko Trpkovic, General Manager of the Fair, spoke about the importance of this event. Hoping that the exhibitors would feature themselves in the best form and the visitors would find what they were looking for, Mr. Trpkovic said, this year’s Fair motto "You need a change? Change your Furniture." certainly had sense, since it was much easier to change the ambient than oneself or people in one’s environment.

- If something has lasted almost for a half of a century, then it undoubtedly speaks about quality, said during the festive opening Mr. Predrag Bubalo, Minister of Trade in the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

– Fairs are a place where competitiveness can be shown, a place of playing market matches. My message to the exhibitors is to change their experiences in the following seven days, meet different markets, take over the innovations and thus improve their production.

Mr. Bubalo pointed out that up to date, in 2007, the furniture industry had exported products in the value of 101.3 million Euros, which is 33 percent more than in the whole last year. In spite of this, the deficit remained high, but if this trend were kept, the results would be visible in a few years.
